Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to make India a global entertainment hub by hosting WAVES 2025. With the goal of transforming India into a global entertainment hub, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the WAVES (World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit) Advisory Board meeting. The meeting saw participation from industry leaders and experts from across India and the globe. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is hosting WAVES 2025 from February 5 to 9. A new initiative, "Create in India Challenge - Season 1," will be launched to promote entertainment, creativity, and culture. This will be a major attraction at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa in November.

The virtual meeting included film industry icons such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Chiranjeevi, Akshay Kumar, and A.R. Rahman. Prime Minister Modi also held discussions with business leaders like Mukesh Ambani, Satya Nadella, and Anand Mahindra. Modi announced that in December 2024, India will host the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES), marking a significant step towards establishing the country as a "content creation hub." The WAVES Summit will also launch an Animation Filmmakers Competition (AFC), offering a global platform for creative talent in animation, VFX, and AR-VR fields. Experts believe that these initiatives will provide new opportunities for India’s youth and pave the way for the nation to become a global leader in entertainment.
